![]() ![]() monitor brands will probably take awhile before they implement that into monitors. similar to how a CRT has a rolling image. televisions generally use "rolling black bars" for black frame insertion which helps retain light output. Even my 300 peak nit viewsonic xg2134 has brightness issues when running black frame insertion (called purexp for their "branding"). which wont work well for OLED with its limited brightness. MAYBE including black frame insertion, but I am partially doubting it because right now monitor makers only know how to do flicker backlight which means turning the entire display off and on. more than likely same specs just with freesync involved. Which is why Samsung didn't make a huge fuss about their version of the display at CES in terms of the monitor side of things.įrom the picture on the CES page, its like a thin and light notebook, very minimalistic, tiny bezels. Both Dell and Sony have "first sales rights" for the display technology as part of their partnership deal. freesync version was 500 and the g-sync was 800) It will definitely be cheaper than the Dell mainly due to "gsync tax" which I am assuming means it will be 999.99 vs the 1299.99 of the Alienware because USUALLY g-sync tax is around 300 bucks more (judging off older dell products where the same monitor was split pricing.
